Mia Segaert is a Belgian fine art photographer whose artistic practice grew from a lifelong passion for photography. After a 25-year career in real estate and finance, she devoted herself fully to her artistic path, studying Art Photography at the Academy for Visual Arts in Brasschaat, Belgium. Since then, she has developed a distinctive visual identity and exhibited her work internationally.

Her photographic work explores three recurring themes: Altitude. Earth. Ocean., drawing inspiration from organic forms as well as architectural aesthetics. Her artistic research focuses on how natural landscapes can be reinterpreted through light, composition and abstraction, and how natural elements transform over time. Moving beyond mere documentation, her photographs reveal sculptural, conceptual and sometimes surreal dimensions within nature.

Her work carries a sense of serenity, mystery and timelessness, inviting the viewer to look beyond what is immediately visible and experience nature from a different perspective.

Segaert’s photography has received international recognition, including the State of the World 2023 Curatorial Selection at the PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris for Glacier Azur, and Gold Awards at the MUSE Photography Awards in 2024 for Ethereal Bodies and in 2025 for White Powder. At the XV Florence Biennale 2025, she received the Lorenzo il Magnifico Award — First Prize Photography.
